About this Holiday House

Surrounded by Ngaio and Karo trees and overlooking the Kaikouras, Kupe’s Lookout is a hop, skip and a jump from Kupe’s Retreat. It is similar in size to Kupe’s Retreat and offers the same amenities and adventure opportunities. If Kupe's Retreat and Kupe's Lookout are unavailable please ask about Kupe's Secret (Kupe’s Secret is just a few metres along the track adjacent to the fenceline/sea toward the lighthouse. It has the sea view, is very private and is nestled in the bush. A real secret!!) Cellphone coverage is available in some spots

Please Refer to comments given for Kupe's Retreat. Kupe's Lookout offers opportunities for more than one family to holiday together and have their own space. Kupe's Lookout has a huge window in living area which overlooks the setting sun behind the 2 largest peaks of the Kaikouras.The main bedroom offers the same view. Behind the bach is the historic Pukeatua Pa site.Cape Palliser lighthouse is on the right.The seal colony's favourite spot is just below across the road This location offers all the sights and experiences that Kupe's Retreat does.

Special Attractions and Activities Nearby

Lighthouse is a short walk from the bach. Mangatoetoe settlement a few hundred metres back around the corner. Pinnacles 20 minutes back towards Lake ferry.

This is a great little place to explore the palliser area from. It is clean and tidy, and has all the amenities required. The location is stunning . Carol was a great communicator and shared some amazing locations. Will go back.

Kupe's Lookout was such a lovely surprise for us. It is surrounded by nature with lots to see and do. The Bach has everything one needs to spend a few quality days in such a remote spot. The fireplace kept us warm and comfortable in the evenings. We will have no hesitation to stay there again when we go back to visit Cape Palliser in the future.
