BOAT RAMPS at Omapere and Opononi, take a short walk to SIGNAL STATION POINT (5 minutes drive) for a great view of the harbour,BUSH HIKES offer varying challenges, WAITOMARAMA GORGE (5 minutes drive) for short kauri and waterfall walk, or see TANE MAHUTA, famed 'father of the forest', (15 minutes drive) in the 19k long WAIPOUA FOREST, or longer kauri walks.

Comfortable and good for a family. Only need to take your clothes, personal toiletries and beach towels. Close to the beach and Omapere and Opononi. Suited us. Rough around the edges for those looking for top of the range.

We had some unfortunate issues during our stay with the previous tenants and cleaner that were out of the hosts control (all eventually resolved). In terms of the house itself some of the furniture is a little dated and some work needs to be done on the deck in particular to make it safe for kids (apparently in the process of getting sorted). Of note, there is no WiFi and we only got cellphone reception with a One simcard (which you can buy from the store at the bottom of the hill coming into town). It is in a beautiful location and has lots of space for a family stay.

Spacious home with all the mod cons and views of the harbour. No wifi and very musty smell in the entrance way and front bathroom.
