About this Holiday House

Fabulous, a little metro, a little retro, with contemporary art, books & music by Cantabrians and bathed in sunshine. Quiet Street. On arrival you will find plunger coffee, tea, milk, biscuits and well provisioned pantry. Enjoy two living rooms and two bedrooms with large wardrobes, drawers and hotel standard king beds (or singles) quality linen, duvets and electric blankets. Kitchen has a Rimu floor. French doors open to an east and north facing terrace and terrace furniture. The bathroom has a shower (not over a bath) and vanity. Separate laundry. Two toilets. The house is insulated and warm with plenty of heating including Eswa ceiling heating in the sitting room. A desk and second television is in the main bedroom. The terrace overlooks our grass tennis court and garden and guests may enjoy both gardens, and pick flowers and herbs. Plenty of cutlery, glassware and china useful for entertaining and for the dishwasher. The house is quiet, private, well fenced, with smoke alarms, fire extinguisher, emergency items, key lock box and security alarm. You can bring your Sky box. Plenty of off street parking. Garage can be used for for storage. The house is close to the University of Canterbury and Airport. Buses close to UC and Airport. We really enjoy our guests and hope you will have time to join us for a drink or coffee during your stay. Our first guest said "everything was perfect and we couldn't have asked for more. Very comfortable place to stay within walking distance of shops, cafes and the University. The owners are very friendly and Claire has provides so much more than most. We loved having the fresh apples and lemons and the bed was very comfortable. Thanks so much for a lovely stay! If we're back in Christchurch we'll be in touch.

We stayed over the recent school holidays, perfect for us and our two teenage sons. Plenty of space, very comfy beds and everything thought of by Claire. Great location, sunny sunny home and many special touches provided. Thankyou Claire! We will certainly stay again.

AAAA+++. This is a FABULOUS property that is extremely well located. I have stayed at this wonderful accommodation four times now and it would be my first pick out of any accommodation in Christchurch. It is extremely well priced and hosts, John and Claire are just wonderful to deal with. I cannot speak highly enough of them. Solway House is the property that is YOUR Home, away from home. There is everything you need to relax in luxury. Beautifully comfortable beds, spacious living areas, excellent heating throughout the entire house, great shower, laundry with washing machine and the dryer, an added bonus. WIFI access is excellent. There is plenty of private off street parking, and the property itself is very tranquil and quiet. Its situation to the University, Riccarton shopping and Central Christchurch is perfect for accessibility and easy driving. There are great little walks close by, and there is an excellent bus service within a stones throw if required. Thanks John and Claire for such wonderful stays.
