Our historic villa was built around 1877 by the first mayor of Sumner. The house has been totally modernised but retains all its original charm (with cosmetic damage from the earthquakes). We are one block from the beach and an easy walk along the beach to Sumner's many cafes, restaurants, boutique shops and 3-screen cinema.

The Suite and the Studio are separate and individually self-contained. Both have king-sized beds, TV and ensuite bathrooms. The Suite has a kitchen with hob and microwave while the Studio has a microwave kitchen.

We are 20-25 minutes drive to the city centre and there is a regular regular bus service at the door that runs directly to the city and on to the airport.

Wonderful base for many walks, swimming, surfing, mountain biking and road biking.

BaySide’s private lane gives you access to the beach via Esplanade to the North, and we also have private access into the famous Joe’s Garage Cafe via Southern Access. The Pool Area is common and free to use however please respect other guests with noise levels in all common areas.
The pool is out of action due to earthquake damage.
