I can't contact the owner directly, there is only the option to 'Book'

On Holiday Houses you will come across two different types of listings, those with a 'Book' button and those with an 'Enquire' button.

If the listing has a 'Book' option, then you will not be able to contact the owner directly, you will only be able to send them a Booking Request. You can put any questions you have in the comment section of the booking request form.

If the listing has an 'Enquire' button, then you can use the enquiry form at the bottom of their listing to email the owner. You may also find the owner has listed their contact number by clicking 'View contact details' to the right of the Enquiry form.

If you want to talk to an owner prior to booking, we suggest that you look for listings specifically with an 'Enquire' button.

I am looking for accommodation / I have a question about a specific property

We are not able to personally assist in finding or booking a Holiday House.

We do not manage any listings, or have any further information other than what's shown on the site, so we are unable to know which houses are available, or answer specific questions about a property.

We suggest heading to our Advanced search. From there, you will be able to make a more specific search based on what you are seeking - location, price range, amount of people etc.

Once you have found a location you are interested in renting, depending on how the owner has set up their listing on Holiday Houses, you will be able to 'make an enquiry' or 'make a booking'.

I haven't had a response from the owner yet

Generally, owners will respond to a request within 24 hours of your booking, though there may be times when they take a bit longer. We are not able to confirm bookings on our end or follow up on individual bookings to do so.

The owners' phone number will often be included in the confirmation email sent to you when you send your request to the owner. If so, we suggest calling them to get instant clarification on your booking.

I need to cancel or amend my booking

If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please contact the owner/manager of the accommodation. The owner can contact us directly if they need a hand with your request.

I need to cancel a booking

To cancel a booking online, login to your Holiday Houses account and on the right hand side of the page you will see a section labelled "Bookings and Enquiries".

Click on the "Booking Calendar" link and then use the arrows on the calendar to move to the month the booking is in.

Beneath the calendar, all the bookings for the month are displayed. Just click the 'delete this booking' link for the booking you want to cancel. You will need to select your reason for cancelling as 'Traveller requested cancellation' and then you can proceed to cancel the booking.

If the renter has not requested the cancellation, please do not cancel the booking without speaking with them about it first.

How do I update my availability calendar

To block off unavailable dates on your booking calendar, login to your Holiday Houses account and on the right hand side of the page you will see a section labelled "Bookings and Enquiries".

Click on the "Booking Calendar" link and on the following page, to the right of the calendar, click 'Add a booking'.

Add the dates you want to block off, any names or details for you to refer to later, and hit 'Save'.

The dates you have input will show as booked on your calendar.
