Charming 140 yr. old ‘Poplar' Cottage (once the Station Head Sheperds cottage) is one of three 19th Century cottages on our historic Tinui Station Homestead property and is located in a beautifully secluded setting amongst mature trees with views of landmark Mt Maunsell at the rear of the property.
'Poplar' Cottage is fully self-contained, with cosy wood fire, has been handsomely restored to retain its charm and character, whilst unobtrusively incorporating todays ‘mod-cons’, including free internet access, Sky TV (with wide range of prepaid channels), DVD and new kitchen/bathroom/laundry facilities etc.
Play Golf on our ‘Farm’ style 6 hole (1066m) Golf course adjacent to the cottages, Croquet in the Homestead grounds, or Archery out on the farm,(Golf Clubs,golf balls, Croquet Mallets and balls, and Arrows are all provided at no extra charge). Or, if walks are more your 'thing', take the 55min walk to the top of Mt Maunsell, the home of NZ’s first Anzac Cross, or
Castlepoint Beach is less than 15 min. by car and offers an excellent family choice of ocean beach, sheltered shallow inlet and interesting walks.

Everything you could need in this lovely cottage, plus views to die for. We loved the cosy woodburner, lit in readiness for our arrival. Hosts helpful and friendly, we had two days of perfect peace and quiet.

Great place to stay , friendly hosts who will do anything for you, we had teenagers and a four year old and there was something to do for all of them, accommodation was of a very high standard, hope to be back one day!
