Pukawa Lodge is a beautiful wooden house, nestled amongst the native bush of Pukawa Bay.
The house;
It is hidden by nature and surrounded by peace and quiet, with wild quails, tui and other native birds, happily visiting the house. An extensive deck reaches far into the garden with plenty of space to relax in the sun or shade, entertain others for dinner, or simply sit and read a book.
It has an open plan living area downstairs with all the essentials you need for your stay. A small set of stairs lead you upstairs to two bedrooms.
The house is located down a quiet no-through lane, so there are rarely other cars to disturb the peace. There is plenty of parking space on the back lawn for visitors behind the house and you are able to drive right round so easy access and parking for a boat and trailer.
Pukawa Bay is a beautiful 3 minute walk away, down a public pathway or the main village road takes you all the way to the boat ramp for easy access to the water. Essentially you need a car here, however there are lovely signposted walks through the native bush to neighbouring bays of Kuratau and Omori, where you will find a village shop and café.
Pukawa Bay;
This is one of the most beautiful bays on the lake. It is about 40 minutes from Taupo town and 10 minutes drive from Turangi. It is completely private and has wonderful clear water. The volcanic black sand and pumice stones make it easy to walk on and the small beach is ideal for families and safe swimming. There are a couple of seating areas, an open space for sports and traffic is kept to a minimum.
This is an ideal house for family fun, fishing enthusiasts, or couples and friends wanting to chill out for the weekend. If you love to ski, It is also ideally located for a 40 minute drive to the Whakapapa Ski fields on Mount Ruapehu.
Cool in the summer and warm and cosy in the winter, means the house is available for guests all year round.
