Enjoy a private, quiet setting among lawns and paddocks (there might even be sheep to visit, if you time it right!), with the ocean whispering to you at night--or a mere 5 minutes drive away, relax on golden sand at Tukurua's endless, quiet beaches, safe for swimming. Only 2 km away is the famous Mussel Inn, with its amazing food, live music, and local "scene." Just a few minutes further gets you to Collingwood (shops, post, tavern, takeaways), while it's only 15 minutes to downtown Takaka. Halfway between Abel Tasman and Kahurangi National Parks, 40 minutes to amazing Wharariki Beach and Farewell Spit, with wonderful tramping just down the road at Milnthorpe Reserve, this is your base to strike out and explore. Or stay in on a chilly day, stoke up the big log burner, and relax with a book in the quiet of rural Golden Bay!
