Seasonal vegetables from our organic garden may be available for purchase—depending on the season and what we have in stock. Otherwise, guests will need to provide their own food, although for a small charge we can do the provisioning for you. Cutlery, crockery and other cooking utensils are provided.

We are a working farm with a variety of livestock, including cattle, hens and goats.

We have extensive gardens including a very large organic vegetable garden—produce of which will be for sale depending on the season.

At the Lodge we provide a variety of options for your typical kiwi holiday, and the Kenepuru Sounds offer great off site options to make this holiday one to remember.

Rates: A bond of $200 is required. It will be refunded at the end of your stay provided there is no damage and the property is left in a clean and tidy manner. There are a number of words currently used to describe the whole ‘green’ arena. Words such as sustainability, self sufficiency, carbon neutral, environmentally friendly, organic, clean and green, chemical free, energy efficient and ecological are all positive aspects of looking after our world that we encourage here at Broughton Lodge. We are proud that our carbon footprint is lower than the land area of our property. Dogs are permitted if they are outside only and kept under control.

With a grand view over the bay the home has extensive outdoor decks and is fully equipped for a carefree and comfortable Sounds experience.

Close by are some of the most wonderful sparsely populated walking tracks including the Queen Charlotte Track. Guests may wish try their luck at a spot of fishing, or walk on the farm land or native bush which is part of the property. There is also the possibility of commercial boat trips to the outer Sounds areas. The area also provides some very scenic driving experiences such as the short trip out to Te Mahia or Portage resorts, or a longer drive to Raetihi Lodge for lunch and maybe a massage too, or Nopera for a round of golf.

Guest will have the exclusive use of the home during their stay. The home will be serviced before and after visits.
