The house is spacious and although furnished for adults, children are welcome... Just ask!
Look out for Orca whales in the harbour or use the telescope to spot the famous Maori Pou (totem) which guards the harbour! If you tire of watching sea and sands, a 10 minute walk will take you to the Opononi tavern, where you can have a bar meal and meet the local characters. (For those who prefer to cook at home, organic herbs, seasonal fruit and veg in the garden.) For those wanting adventure, to spend time with local Maori identities, or experience New Zealands untouched magical natural environment, there's more. Cross the harbour by water taxi to experience the wild north Hokianga. Overnight or day trips. Horses/ quad bikes/ walk up the Miti Miti beach and beyond to the Golden Stairway at the mouth of the Whangape harbour or explore the mystical Warawara forest. Great location. Very comfortable house. lovely beach. Missed teh dolphins due to the unseasonal rain, but enjoyed the house, balcony, beach and harbour
