A REAL BEACH BACH WITH 180 DEGREE VIEWS THAT WE HAVE HAD AS OUR FAMILY BACH FOR 6 YEARS.
Our bach is fully equipped and has 3 bedrooms that sleep up to 7. There are fabulous views from the enclosed and private deck to the huge sandunes across the harbour that you can sandboard down.Five minutes walk to the beach to fish or swim and 5 minutes more along the the beach to the Opononi Hotel with the best bar/cafe view in Northland and the statue of Opo the dolphin that spent 1956 playing with people at the beach. Hot fish n chips shop, ice creams and a well stocked 4 Square with a wine and beer selection.
Surf down the sand dunes, harbour cruises and lots of bush walks all around the area. There is a booklet in the bach about local walks Our bach has a King, Double and three singles and one of the singles can go in the double room and leave a twin room. Some rods and tackle are available in the lock-up . There is a filleting bench and sink under the bach and space for two vehicles. The new much larger deck has steps up the front to enter by the new larger ranchsliders. The back deck is good for morning sun. There is a shower over the bath with the toilet being a separate room, two outdoor loungers and a new outdoor table with chairs. The back garden is enclosed and has been praised by visitors for medium sized dogs and energetic youngsters. Small dogs could squeeze out.
We are sorry we cannot supply linen so please bring 2 sheets or a sheet and duvet cover and pillow cases for all beds you will use. All beds have duvets. Also bring dish towels and large towels. When walking a dog take a plastic bag with you and please no dogs on furniture - had hairy time once.
Please take all rubbish and recycling to the very nearby dump as there is no collection.

Nearby attractions & activities
Harbour cruises, good fishing in and outside the harbour, forest walks, horseriding, coastal walks of various length and difficulty, The Kauri forest and TANE MAHUTA - biggest kauri tree in NZ is only 30 minutes drive away. A 3km beach walk from Opononi to Omapere. Take the ferry across from Rawene to Kohukohu then meander through the scenic bush to Kaitaia. Only an hour's drive to the Bay of Islands for a day trip. A truly relaxing place that even the NZ Herald doesnt reach until 10.30 am.
