The “Shady Rest's A Frame" is a self-contained cottage situated on Takaka’s main street, set back from the road amongst tall and beautiful native trees.
The nearby Kahurangi National Park and Abel Tasman Coastal Track provide many beautiful walking tracks. Shorter “bush-walks” are scattered throughout this beautiful region.
If you are looking for a tranquil wee spot to have a few quiet moments you can sit beside the stream at the end of the garden. Do not be too surprised if the resident eels come to join you for a snack.
Within only an five-minute walk there are shops, cafés, restaurants, galleries and a supermarket. Further afield you will find a golf course, tennis courts, marina facilities, fishing opportunities, rock-climbing, many magnificent, sweeping beaches to walk on, and a calm warm sea to swim in.
