Hotwater bottles available for those sleeping in bunks and on stretcher. Working coal range in kitchen and multifuel burner in lounge. Wood and coal provided. Outside but flush toilet. Close to all Otago Peninsula's main attractions, 5 mins from Portobello and only 30 mins from Dunedin town centre. Safe swimming for young children, kids kayaks and BBQ available.
Gate in hedge leads onto private section of water bank ideal for sunbathing, picnics and watching the kids swim while reading a book. Bird and marine life abounds. Sandflats at low tide. At high tide it is deep enough for an adult to swim, but shallow enough to allow all except the smallest children to swim with minimal supervision. The house is a little old-fashioned and furnished with items retired from elsewhere. It does have Sky connections for those who bring their own Sky box, modern cooking facilities as well as the coal range and electric as well as solid fuel heating. If you are looking for somewhere, which is clean and tidy, but where the kids can walk in sand and it is not a drama, then you'll love it as much as we do. If you want flash motel facilities, you need to look elsewhere. Longer term rental possible during autumn and winter - rates negotiable.
