Torlesse Lodge is a fully equipped comfortable and warm house with great mountain views in Castle Hill Village. With 4/5 bedrooms, two bathrooms and two separate living areas, Torlesse Lodge sleeps 10-12 persons. Only 70 minutes drive from Christchurch towards Arthur's Pass by Craigieburn & Torlesse mountain ranges. Plenty of outdoor activities within minutes - skiing (Broken River, Porters, Mt Cheeseman and Craigieburn are all close at hand, with Mt Olympus, and Mt Hutt a little further away), climbing, tramping, rock climbing, mountain biking and walking (including the fantastic new Hog's Back Track), fishing, water skiing, caving, tennis,petanque area. Castle Hill Village is also a really friendly and safe environment for children - and the playground is just across the road.
Sited on the edge of a reserve, Torlesse Lodge has great mountain and forest views from the main lounge, outdoor areas and bedrooms. There are two bedrooms with queen beds (one upstairs, one downstairs), and two upstairs bedrooms with two single bunkbeds in each. A second living area/bedroom downstairs (a great area for kids) has a double fold-out sofa bed and two single bunks with a TV and sound system. Two bathrooms, both with shower & toilet (one upstairs, one downstairs). Warm cosy open plan kitchen/living area with logburner & double glazing and heat venting system to upstairs bedroom. Attractive private outdoor area with outdoor furniture and gas barbeque. TV/DVD in both living areas with Sky digital available (with your own decoder). Tennis court & petanque area in village, along with a rustic 9 hole golf course, and good tracks for walking, running, and mountain biking. The Castle Hill Village playground is just across the street and is a great spot for children, visible from the house.

Rates: A minimum stay of 2 nights is preferred, with a surcharge for single nights (where available). Between 13/6/2012- 14/10/2012 (the ski season), preference is given to weekly bookings and weekend bookings are not normally accepted more than 3 weeks in advance. Children under 12 months at commencement of the booking stay free. Linen can be provided, at a cost of $15/person, by arrangement. Rental rates do not include cleaning which is the responsibility of the renter. All rates subject to change without notice.

Availability: Torlesse Lodge is available to rent year round. A minimum stay of two nights is preferred, with a surcharge for single night stays, if available. During the ski season,preference is given to weekly bookings. Weekend bookings are not normally accepted more than 3 weeks in advance. Bookings are confirmed on receipt of a deposit with payment of any balance required prior to the commencement of the booking.

Cave Stream Scenic Reserve - for a caving adventure. High country lakes - Lake Lyndon, Lake Coleridge, Lake Pearson, Lake Grasmere for fishing. In summer, water skiing at Lake Lyndon. Terrace Downs resort is 45 minutes drive away via Lake Lyndon. Great mountain biking and walking on the Hog's Back Track from Castle Hill Village to Mt Cheeseman, linking with the tracks at Broken River, Craigieburn and further afield.
