The Penguin Nest Cottage is located on the beach of Porpoise Bay/ Curio Bay. It is a lovely clean cottage which has 2 bedrooms and a sunroom. The front balcony is superb and only 10 metres from the beach. With beach views so good you won’t want to leave. Watch the Hector dolphins swimming during the summer months from your front door. It is fully self contained with every thing you need for living. Good shower, comfortable beds, great kitchen/living room, pots, pans,plates etc etc. It sleeps maximum of 4 people. Extra kids ok (email for details). It has 1 double bed and 2 single beds. The sunroom has an older folding couch. There are penguins galore in this area. Yellow eyed penguins and the little blue penguins also. The famous fossil forest at Curio Bay is 10 minutes walk. Also there are sea lions on the beach regular . This area of the Catlins has some of the most amazing wildlife on earth and you can view it all for free. There’s also a fantastic surfing school/hire right here on the beach and a shop 10 minutes walk. Everything is here to help you rest and relax and enjoy.
