Aro'a Cottage is at 21 Stuart Road, McLeod Bay on the Whangarei Harbour in sunny Northland.The cottage is private,cosy and quiet and situated behind our house which is across a no-exit road to the beach.It is northfacing with unrestricted views of Mt.Manaia and Mt.Aubrey.The beach is safe for all water related activities including swimming with a fun dive pontoon within view from the cottage. A childrens playground is just along the bay.Two surf beaches are approx.15 mins drive and also the Pines Golf Course.There are lovely bush walks and spectacular views from Mt.Manaia and Mt.Aubrey.A general store,Manaia Country Club,cafe and takeaways are within a few minutes drive(or walk) and only 30 mins into Whangarei City.
There is good fishing and shellfish in the harbour and a jetty at the end of our road from which to throw a line.Drag the herring net for a feed or bucket of bait. ( We have the net.)We have off street parking and room to park a boat.
