About this Holiday House

Romantically secluded and happily close to restaurants, mini -supermarket, beaches, and just a few meters up the hill from the main wharf. Private Wifi included. This 1930's cottage is a lovely time warp, cosy and comfortable. Ideal for a couple or single. Popular with honeymooners. Bush track leads to the cottage which is set among native trees. Glimpse of Halfmoon Bay waterfront. Decking with outdoor furniture. A nice place to have a cup of coffee and enjoy the prolific native birds and their song. Binoculars are available on request. Gas cooking. Microwave oven. Fridge. TV. - Freeview - satellite dish. Radio. Comfortable queen bed. Shower over bath. Towels, linen etc. Hair dryer. Easily operated electric heating system. Beautifully secluded amidst native trees and less than a 5 minute stroll to shops, beaches, and restaurants. Native birds are prolific in Pilgrim Cottage grounds including an occasional visit from the Stewart Island Brown Kiwi. Binoculars are available on request.

Cute little basic cottage Good location but needs updating We stayed over Christmas and there was no oven

What a delightful place to stay. We had three lovely days enjoying the cottage - a slice of NZ history but with all the modern day comforts you need. Plenty to do in the area and Diane, our hostess, was great at offering us a lift when we needed it. Many thanks for helping make an unforgettable experience.

We spent a week in this lovely cosy traditional cottage - we felt like settlers with all comforts. We loved the wooden floors and shelving, the veranda with its views of the bay and visits from cheeky kaka. The path to the cottage through the bush like approach makes it feel very private and special. We woke up to bird song which continued through the day with a pair of tui regularly visiting. And I saw a kiwi very briefly as it wandered from our garden to next door's garden Just magical. Best part of a wonderful month in NZ.
