Winstone Cottage, Rangiuru Bay, exactly 4 kilometres from the Buried Village is a much-loved and charmingly renovated family bach ( of 5 generations) on the lakeside Rangiuru Bay.

It has all comforts with a wooden, character kitchen, 10 seating dining table, large comfortable sofas, polished floors and rugs. Books and toys and games. The large log fire place can be open or closed. The large deck with spa has a full set of Devon furniture, a large umbrella and chaises-longues. (kept in the barn during the winter season. The spa is available by negotiation if the stay is 4 nights. We also have a cot, a porta cot and bassinet and a high chair wheel chair and a wonderful play John Deere tractor!!
Nestled in bush with tui, bell-bird and wood-pigeon and a wonderful dawn chorus, it is a haven for those wanting peace and privacy or water sports, bush walks, fishing and lake activities only 15 minutes from Rotorua.
Winstone Cottage is east facing, on the lake edge and by the large grassy reserve with a natural Rotomahana clay tennis court. It has its own jetty and mooring, boat ramps at the end of bay, and a full mountain view.

Availability: Thank you to all who have loved and appreciated our cottage with us. It is shared with a big family and we ask all to leave as you find it, or better! eg clean BBQ, gassed up, fridge de iced ... Please ONLY run the spa on the timer and not all the time! and please use the rangehood in the kitchen to avoid foody smells settling in the cottage! NO Dogs or Smoking inside - the big log fire creates the only ( good ) smells!!

Winstone Cottage looks out onto Mt Tarawera which is the major landscape feature of an extensive and beautiful area known for its geothermal character. From the top of Mt Tarawera can be seen not only Lake Tarawera, but also Lakes Okareka, Okataina, Rotomahana, Rotoma, Rerewhakaitu and Rotoehu. Rotorua city is only 15 minutes away with all its attractions. Rangiuru Bay, where the cottages have a central location, is very attractive with its broad grassy reserve and bush clad backdrop. It has a boat ramp,and jetties, and buoy, ( ramp only one minute away) and a natural Rotomahana clay tennis court. The surrounding bush is home to tui, bellbirds, wood pigeons, fantails and white-eyes all of which frequent trees and shrubs on our properties. There are close lakeside walks both north and south, a great local restaurant and at peak times, lovely neighbours in the bay should you wish for a little sociability.
