For a beautiful Cooks Beach holiday escape make your way to Kowhai Cottage. Kowhai Cottage is a large family bach on a sunny north facing site. It is all ground floor living except for two bedrooms, the master with king bed upstairs and a mezzanine double bedroom. Two further bedrooms downstairs. One queen, and one with two sets of built in bunks – all very comfy. Available to 8 people max. The kitchen was recently refurbished, along with the bathroom which has a bath and seperate shower. (instant hot water and high pressure shower). The grassed fully fenced section is extremely spacious with many trees. There is plenty of room for children to play, and there is also an outside hot and cold water shower. For entertainment at Kowhai Cottage you have Freeview, DVD, boardgames, BBQ, a large deck and outside furniture. The kitchen is fully equipped with new fridge/freezer, full oven and microwave, toasted sandwich maker, coffee plunger and everything else you need to make your stay comfortable. We also have a modern wood burner fire so you will be nice and cosy for a winter get away as well. At Cooks Beach itself, there is a dairy, fish & chip shop, Govino restaurant, Ths Vessel cafe/restaurant, liquorshop and hardware store. It is a short, easy walk to swim at either the beach or the estuary. Cooks Beach is a very safe beach, swimmable at all tides. The boat ramp is a 2 minute drive away, with good fishing in Mercury Bay or if you are lucky, off the beach. It is only a few minutes drive to the passenger ferry, which takes you to Whitianga where you will find cafes, restaurants and shops. Ten minutes drive in the other direction to the hot springs and Hot Waves café at Hot Water Beach, or to Hahei and Cathedral Cove. Purangi 9 hole golf course is a similar distance away. Being so close to Whitianga it is ideal for Scallop Festival accommodation, and is also suitable for Cooks Beach wedding accommodation.
