Kea Cottage is a great place to stay - we've just booked our second weekend stay there. Nice and cosy, with two nice bedrooms and a lovely warm fire to dry ski gear in front of. Really nice view of the mountain too.

Easy walk into Methven (1km) for pubs, cafes, restaurants, gym, boutique arthouse cinema, spa pools, sports massage etc. Perfect base for Mount Hutt Ski Area open June - October. Close to excellent golf courses - Methven Golf Course and Terrace Downs. Good walking and mountain biking from the house along and around the canal and Methven Walkway. Windsurfing and other watersports locally at Lake Clearwater and Lake Camp. Fishing and jetboating in the Rakaia River. Tramping at Mt Somers and Rakaia Gorge. Also hot air ballooning and horse riding locally.
