'Port' & 'Starboard' are two fully self-contained beachfront holiday unit’s just steps from the wonderful beach of Patons Rock, a ten minute drive from Takaka. This idyllic spot has attracted guest year after year to escape the hub-bub found at other over populated holiday spots around the bay. Patons Rock is a small quiet community where local residents and holiday makers alike are drawn to one of the bay’s best beaches; unpopulated, safe swimming, beach combing, rock pools that kids love fossicking in, short strolls along the beach, or for the more energetic a few hours walk to Onekaka Beach or beyond! Each of the two units accommodate four people, a queen and two single beds that guest will find already made on arrival along with supply of bath towels. For the winter month’s electric blankets are put on to keep one cosy and warm along with sufficient electric heating. The main living area’s are open-plan; lounge with TV and DVD (there is small selection of DVD’s), dining area and small kitchenette with microwave, bench-top convectional oven and two electric hot-plates and small motel type fridge. We provide few basic provisions such as coffee, tea, sugar, cooking oil, salt and pepper along with paper-towels and glad-wrap. The bathroom has shower, toilet, vanity and wall heater. Outdoor furniture, sun umbrella and gas bar-b-q allows you to enjoy the north facing decks where one can sit back, relax and enjoy the sea view; be sure to capture the sun rise on a calm, clear morning; spectacular! Port has a single garage housing the washing machine, whereas Starboard has a double car-port with attached laundry room with washing machine and chest-freezer.
