THE BACH
This cosy absolute waterfront three bedroom bach with sleepout is surrounded by a very large sunny deck. Enjoy magnificent panoramic views of the beautiful Keneperu sound. The deck is wonderfully sheltered from sea winds and enjoys the maximum sun possible because of its situation in the bay. Outdoor furniture (table and chairs) and two loungers provided. The safe swimming beach is just a short walk down from the bach. You can enjoy the sheltered beach with opportunity for shade or sun. At the beach there is a deck for you to sit on if the there is a very high tide. If you have a boat there is a 2 tonne mooring (boat ramp near by) and the property comes with 12 foot aluminium dinghy and two life jackets. You can attach your small outboard motor to this dinghy if you like.
The property is accessed by road. There is a flat parking area at the top of the property and a driveway off this. There is a short walk (about 25 metres) down to the bach from the end of the driveway.

FACILITIES
The living area is open plan with a fully equipped kitchen with double oven and microwave and dishwasher. The kitchen has a large fridge/freezer (the sleepout has a second fridge/freezer). There is a dining table and a lounge area with comfy sofas and chairs. A barbecue is supplied. There is a free view TV and DVD. There are three bedrooms, two with sea views and queen beds and one with two single beds. All bedrooms are separate and accessed via a hallway rather than from the living area. The sleepout has bunks. There is a cosy log burner for colder weather.

The bathroom has a shower, washing machine and dryer and a separate toilet.

LOCATION AND ACTIVITIES
The location, 6 kms this side of The Portage and 6 kms further on from Te Mahia makes this an ideal place for:
swimming
fishing (you can fish off the beach and catch huge snapper at times)
sailing, kayaking, boating, biking, walking (along the road or the beach) or lying on the beach or deck.
The Queen Charlotte track is 5 to 10 minutes away.
Enjoy a meal (fine dining or a bar meal) at the Portage Hotel or hire a boat or kayak from them. There is a shop there with basic supplies.
A boat from Picton takes 15 minutes to get to Torea Bay where passengers can be picked up or despatched. Torea Bay is 10 minutes drive from the Bach.
Horse riding is not far away at the end of Keneperu sound.
The Keneperu Sound is arguably the nicest place to boat because of it's sheltered location, quiet water ways and deep waters.

Despite the rainy weather, we had a relaxing time. Lovely spot, very private, and loved the beach area with deck. Bit disappointing to find no gas bottle for barbeque, as it is a bulky item to cart there. Would stay there again definitely.

Lovely, old-style bach. We really loved the two decks, particularly the one down on the beach. All day sun and ideally situated for the Queen Charlotte track and Portage where you can hire kayaks and mountain bikes.
