Excellent views over the Hauraki Gulf and within 3mins walk to the nearest beach. Rakino Island is and island free of commercialisation and is for those who want to relax and enjoy time without all the mod cons. There are no shops or electricity. All supplies and linen must be taken on your visit. You also need to do your own cleaning prior to departure. There is excellent fishing (rock and boat) around the island(s), great walks and swimming. There are plenty of activities for the kids to entertain themselves.
Transport is by way of Ferry, Water Taxi or Helicopter. Contact: Maxx transport, Auckland; Pine Harbour, Reubens Water Taxi. Over summer, ferries travel regularly throughout the weekend and week.
