The Heron by the Tukituki river is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed. From the moment we arrived we fell in love with the place. The view over the river and the set up of the cottage is perfect, it has everything you need for a great time away. The breakfast provisions for your first morning was such a beautiful touch, the homemade bread was a lovely addition. We cannot recommend the Heron enough- such a special place that we will never forget.

We decided to escape Auckland rain to the Hawkes Bay, but little did we know we were escaping to paradise. Our two day stay turned to four and if it was our choice we would have stayed forever. The Heron is cute as a button with all the mod cons needed for comfort encompassed in rustic charm and beautiful surroundings. Love, love, love this place...and appreciated all the details - Crown Lynn vases, heart rocks, and sprigs of lavender alongside comfortable furniture to enjoy the stunning view - in any weather. Communication with host was exceptional and we appreciated her local knowledge.

A beautiful, romantic and charming cottage in the Tukituki valley with the most stunning vistas. One of the best holiday house experiences my partner and I have had. An easy drive from Havelock North and private. Rae was very generous leaving goodies for breakfast in the fridge and baking us bread! Close to wineries and beautiful beaches too. Enjoyed our visits with Charlie the foxy too. Adorable. Highly recommend and will be back :)
