River Lodge is an idyllic 3-bedroom Tongariro Retreat in a tranquil setting. Tongariro is one of New Zealands oldest national parks, with still lakes, volcanic elements and alpine surrounds!

The holiday home has an instant holiday feel, and is situated only 5 houses from the world-renowned Tongariro river! The Lockwood type interior is the ideal holiday home, warm, comfortable and a special character of it's own. Beautifully lit and sunny throughout...! The front decks provide both all weather shelter and sunny outdoor living flowing superbly from the living areas.

The kitchen is huge and set up for a large group. The two bi-fold windows open out so you feel like you're outdoors from the kitchen! Guests have full use of the large corner pantry and other storage. There is a good supply of crockery, cutlery and all the usual kitchen utensils plus pots, pans, electric wok, crockpot, baking tins, toasty machine & electric eggbeater. Door to deck from breakfast bar area. Radio/CD player available to set the mood for those relaxing moments.

There are two living areas, one with TV/DVD (plus Freeview) and 2 x 3-seater couches, the other has dining table & chairs, 2 & 3 seater couches and a single chair. Double doors flow out to a deck from here for further outdoor space.

The master bedroom has a queen size bed with a wool rest electric blanket, ensuite and walk in wardrobe. There is a flat screen TV with freeview. A hair dryer is available in the chest of drawers. The second bedroom has a double bed with an electric blanket, a set of bunks, desk, draws and wardrobe. The third bedroom has 2 single beds, each with an electric blanket, large shelving and drawers for guest storage. 10 woolen blankets including 1 cot blanket, extra duvets and hot water bottles are in the linen cupboard in the laundry.

Whatever your leisure is: fishing, skiing, white water rafting, the Tongariro crossing, taking in all the amazing outdoor pursuits that are offer; or maybe just having a quiet retreat with a cafe brunch or restaurant dining.

River Lodge will offer you a very relaxed and restful stay. We are sure the experience at this beautiful tranquil spot will leave you with fond memories and a desire to return.

TV reception not as good in the bedroom, but gets most channels plus freeview.
