Cod is a self contained cute kiwistyle seaside bach, two bedroomed and ideal for 4 but can sleep 6, on private lawn and garden with safe swimming shell beach at front door. Some fishing gear, dinghy, yacht and bikes sometimes available to borrow.(conditions apply so please ask) Duvauchelle hotel ( when repaired after earthquake damage), restuarants, store and golf all within walking distance as is bus route to Akaroa -Christchurch. Walk to historic reserve. 10 minute drive to Akaroa Township. 2 mountain bikes sometimes available. Air conditioning optional extra. On the section next door we have established a gamesshed and a second small and cheaper ($70 for 2)selfcontained 1 bedroomed "Penthouse" ( originally built by CI Munro caravans for permanent Living)ideal for 2 but can sleep 4. Renting this too may be an ideal option for large families or friends wanting to holiday together, but still be private and selfcontained for a great summer holiday right on the seafront. Each cottage has its own outdoor barbecue. Please ask if you need a cot or highchair.
Private, quiet, seaviews - away from the crowds but close enough to enjoy all the attractions of Akaroa township. Has many optional extras sometimes available to borrow such as boats, bikes, and kids swings, All only to be used at your own risk and kids must have adult supervision. Undercover tabletennis, billiards, kids foostable inside gamesshed. And outside a large lawn area for soccer, badminton or volleyball.

We have a small selfcontained one bedroomed cabin "Penthouse" sited next door to Cod that may be available to rent at reasonable rates. Ideal for families holidaying together but still wanting their own space and privacy. Please enquire if interested.

Rates: Cottages let on an 'as is' basis. Linen complimentary if staying 7 nights or more, otherwise can be hired @ $10 per person or bring your own. Please advise which option you prefer. Pillows, duvets and blankets are supplied. Due to power increases use of airconditioner iin summer is an extra $10 per day Please also note that prices on our website link are out of date and that the earthquake destroyed the Duvauchelle hotel. It is hoped it will be rebuilt by Christmas, the cafe and store are still operating.

Availability: Currently both Cod and the Penthouse are booked Monday to thursday nights inclusive. Where weekend dates are showing as available it means that at least one cottage is still available but it may not be the one you want so please enquire which cottage you want either Cod or Penthouse or perhaps both.

Dinghy if used AT YOUR OWN RISK can be launched at your front door over the sea wall. Fish can sometimes be caught at high tide casting from the seawall or from the dingy with a handline. Or stroll to the wharf to fish the incoming tide. For those of you who knew and loved them as we did, sadly Winnie the donkey and Moses the pet sheep have passed away.
