Located on Northland's east coast, just a 2¾ hour drive north of Auckland, 45 minutes north of Whangarei and 45 minutes south of Russell and the famous Bay of Islands, Oakura Bay is a gentle safe and beautiful New Zealand white sandy beach on the seaward side of a large deep-water harbour with wonderful views out to numerous islands including the famous diving mecca of the Poor Knights Islands in the distance.
There's tons of things for the kids to do from playing on the swing, climbing up to the tree hut, exploring the rocks at the end of the beach, exploring goat island, building sand castles, swimming, boogie boarding, kayaking, or playing with the many games and toys we keep in the bach.
Meanwhile Mum and Dad can relax on one of three decks or even watch the kids swimming from within the beach front holiday house. The modern contemporary fully equipped kitchen and stocked pantry makes meal preparation a breeze.
The holiday house is safe for young children, has a generous open plan living area, comfortably furnished, french doors opening onto three large sunny decks and landscaped barbeque area. Large flat private corner section. Lovely scenic beach and rock walks. Clean white sandy beach, gently sloping to sheltered safe swimming suitable for small children. Plenty of on-site parking. Launch your boat from 70 metres away off the hard sand beach. Three kayaks (2 singles and one double) with life jackets are included.
Easily accommodates up to two families sleeping up to 12. Only 45 minutes drive north of Whangarei and under 3 hours from Auckland. 500m to dairy, fuel, takeaway shop.
