Hillside Getaway, $300

Ref #: 17486
Take time out and relax at our delightful, peaceful and private, fully furnished 3 bedroom + house with valley views and hills beyond.
French doors open onto extensive verandahs and the large deck provides the perfect place to read and relax. A BBQ, brazier, outside tables, chairs & hammock provide outdoor ambiance.
Listen to the Tuis and Wood-Pidgeons in the large private garden which has many areas for kids to play hide and seek, run around and build huts.
French doors also open from the main bedroom to the wrap around verandah providing expansive views of the valley, hills and garden. The second bedroom contains a queen bed and the other has one single mattress and a double mattress - all with garden views.
A fully fitted kitchen has an electric stove and gas top, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The open plan dining room and living room has a wood burner fire to keep warm in winter - firewood is provided.
A gorgeous handcrafted Housetruck with double bed, water and power is available - a romantic getaway.
Above the garage is a rustic upstairs area with 2 divan beds and seating area - along with a table-tennis table, dart board and stereo with IPOD input to keep the teenagers occupied.
It's an 8 minute walk down to the river swimming hole, away from the hustle and bustle of summer tourists. Sometimes over summer the river stops flowing as the Dam is closed off to save water - so there will be no water for swimming - but most days after 4.30pm the water is released again. The beach is only a quiet 20 minute drive away.
Books, magazines, board games, tennis rackets are all available to use.
It is a relaxing 12 minute drive into Takaka township.
This is a spacious home, a haven from busy life (no television) on a sheltered, sprayfree, private 4 acres. The home is well-equipped and warm with a unique twist of different spaces for a variety of family and friends.
A friendly and loving cat called Gweedo lives here, outside most of the time (incl nights) - you will be required to feed him once a day.
Handcrafted housetruck included. The tipi shown in the picture may or may not be up, if it is not available a shade cloth will be up for sun protection. One moutain-bike is available for use. Organic vegetable gardens may have salad greens available to use.
"Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely house - we really enjoyed ourselves! Rosie, Nia, Alfie, Chris and Cathy - Australia" - January 2011
