This place is a real hidden gem. The hut suits people who are looking for a true authentic experience. The pot belly makes the hut toasty and warm. The manual shower is a bit of fun and does the trick. We stayed for 3 nights with three people, I would suggest no more than three people because the hut is quite small. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our time. Thanks

We had a fabulous family holiday on Stewart Island. The cabin was cosy and contained everything we needed for a wonderful stay. The children loved sleeping on the bunks, being in the bush, feeding the kaka and the deep bay beach. Clever shower and the nicest longdrop we've ever seen. We awoke to the sound of kiwis a couple of mornings and other amazing birdsong. Ewan and Jenny were fabulous hosts. Great hospitality. We will definitely return in the future.

We loved our 6 night stay at Deep Bay Cabin - a great family holiday. We loved the location in the bush and close to the beach. Ewan and Jenny were fabulous hosts and made us feel right at home. The children loved feeding the kaka by hand, bush walks and fishing. The long-drop loo is the nicest that we've seen and clever wee shower set up. Warm and cosy wee cabin. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Stewart Island is a gorgeous place and we definitely intend to return. Thanks so much for your hospitality Ewan, Jenny and Darcy.

Stayed here last weekend. Great little place. Back to basic, but everything we needed. Nice and warm with the coal heater. Birds all around and great hosts to help us. Peaceful area and a great place to start your days tramping.

Very cute cabin surrounded by bush with a cheeky weka outside the front door. Birdsong incredible, you can also hear the waves crashing on nearby Ringaringa beach - bliss.

We stayed for six nights at the Deep Bay cabin and found it very comfortable - the pot-belly and gas cook-top were very efficient. Ewan and Jenny are most attentive and discreet hosts - always willing to go the extra mile. They even called us to go over and meet their friendly kaka!
I really appreciated Ewan's replies to all my queries by email before we came.
The wake-up call from the bellbirds, the lovely bush track to Oban over Peterson's Hill and the deserted stretches of Ringaringa beach are real lures to a stay in Deep Bay.

We stayed at this authentic, wonderful little place for nine nights. We absolutely loved everything about this perfect little spot, where you have a 'real' Stewart Island experience. The cabin was private, cosy (with the brilliant fire), and had that something extra. Ewan and Jenny were lovely hosts and were there to help with anything whatsoever. Would well recommend. Nice to be away from the town and experience the bush and wake up to the birdsong. Close to stunning beaches. A welcome step back in time to a slower pace of life. Many thanks to our accommodating hosts Ewan and Jenny.
