With stunning views and a little beach, Cariad offers a secluded hideaway just five kilometers from Picton with easy access to the Sounds, the Queen Charlotte Track, ferries and wineries. The simple, weatherboard bach is over fifty years old, well maintained and very comfortable in all seasons. It has been sensitively brought up to date whilst retaining the traditional Kiwi bach atmosphere reminiscent of those long, lazy holidays of childhood. It has a great ‘retro’ feel, is fully insulated, has a heat pump, lots of hot water and top quality bed linen.
North facing with all day sun and set amongst native bush, the bach comprises a living/dining room, a kitchen, a bedroom, a bathroom and a balcony with table and chairs. A path meanders down to a little beach, a good spot to sit and read, launch the kayaks for a paddle around the bay, take a dip or try your hand at fishing. There is a cedar hot tub and two bicycles for guest use.
Cariad is a place to wind down and relax. There is no TV but there is a well stocked bookcase, a variety of indoor games and a CD player with i-Pod facility and a selection of music to choose from. There is a phone and broadband email access.
If you are travelling without a car we can pick you up from the airport or ferry. Or you could hire a car in Picton.
