This is the most amazing place. Drive down the private road and across the river to your own piece of paradise. 32 acres of mostly native bush, rivers, swimming holes, eels, glow worms. You don't need to leave.. but the beaches (Tairua and Pauanui) are only 15mins away, the local petrol station 5mins.
Genuine log cabin with one bedroom downstairs, large private mezzanine upstairs. Our family of 4 fits inside nice, but we regularly have 8 people sleeping comfortably inside with one family upstairs and one down in two queen beds, one set of bunks and two single beds. The bathroom has endless instant hot water fed from the river so never short or cold. Shower is over the bath.
Super comfortable 3 seater couch and two recliner arm chairs fill the lounge and huge dining table that easily seats 8 people.
Sit on the deck and watch the pheasants, wood pidgeons and quail on the lawn as you feed eels or build rock dams in the stream at the bottom of the garden.
The property backs on the the Kaueranga Forest and farmland with just a 5 minute drive to Department of Conservation walks through the old gold mines and more great tramps for all ages.
This property is between Tairau and Pauanui, 10-15 minute drive to both nestled at the base of the hills at Hikuai. There is a school at the end of the road with playgrounds and tennis court.
Available from 2011/2012 summer holidays.

Rates: We charge $25.00 cleaning fee per stay based on the place being left in a reasonable condition.
There is no TV reception, cellphone reception, or broadband. There is a TV and DVD plyer if you want to take DVD's down plus a radio and CD player.

What a great place for the family to enjoy time together. Plenty to do and everything you need is there. Very clean and comfortable. We had such fun feeding the eels and seeing the glow worms (more then we saw at Waitomo Caves). Its in the ... Read more
