The lake is a lovely swimming place in the summer with ski lanes just down from the boat ramp. Vine yards and lovely restaurants nearby. Many bush walks/tracks within Kuratau village, 30mins to Whakapapa Ski resort and Hot pools 15mins down the road in Tokaanu. Other adventure seeking activities are within 10-40mins away with white water rafting, mountain biking, tramping, Bunjy Jumping, Jet boating etc.
