New July 98. Mooring & Dingy available. Situated at Schoolhouse Bay Kawau Island in the Hauraki gulf which is serviced by regular ferries & water taxi's. The ferries leave from Sandspit which is approximately 1 hour north of Auckland, (ample car parking available at Sandspit council carpark with live in caretaker). The house is situated on a low ridge approximately 5 minutes walk through the bush from the wharf.
The house has panoramic views from large decks up & down Bonacord harbor. Upstairs, the house has two bedrooms with double beds, one bedroom with two sets of bunks and one bedroom with one set of bunks. There is also an upstairs toilet. The bedrooms all open onto sunny decks.
Duvets and pillows are provided.
The open plan dinning/living area downstairs features a wood burning fire and opens out onto spacious decks, where you can relax in the peaceful surroundings and enjoy a gas barbecue.
There are 2 television sets and stereo also available.
Laundry, bathroom and toilet facilities are also situated on the ground floor. The kitchen is well equipped with microwave, gas hobbs, fan oven,dishwasher, fridge/freezer, cutlery,crockery serving dishes and of course a cork screw.
Things to do on Kawau include bush walks to historic Mansion House & the old Copper Mine, fishing, diving or just sit in the window seat & watch the Wallabies run by. There is a mooring & dinghy available in Schoolhouse Bay for your convenience.
The house is available all year, tariff on request depending on number of people, season & length of stay.
