Bellbird Cottage Lake Hawea, $145 - $145

Our modern self- contained cottage is situated in beautiful Lake Hawea village, surrounded by majestic mountains. We are just 12 kilometres from Lake Wanaka and in the centre of the Lakes District of Central Otago. We are located about 30 minutes from two major ski fields - Treble Cone and Cardrona.
This new and spacious character alpine chalet is fully equipped with modern appliances (stereo, video, microwave, dishwasher, laundry and private telephone line, Air Conditioning). The cottage bedroom has a double and single bed and there is a double sofa sleeper in the lounge. Free Wifi Internet is also included. A typical comment from our guest book is "this is an outstanding cottage, cosy, tastefully decorated and thoughtfully well equipped. Together with warm hospitality this has perfected our holiday in New Zealand".

A well stocked shop is within walking distance, as is the local Hawea Hotel, which has a seven day restaurant. Hosts are Marjorie Goodger, who has had a career in hotel management, and her sister Sheila McCaughan from a farming background.

Should you wish your log fire will be burning on your return from skiing. Dinner by arrangement hosted by Marjorie, Sheila and Brian McCaughan. The cottage was built by Brian McCaughan, utilising local materials and rammed earth technology, with attention to detail.
