About this Holiday House
This lake front lockwood bach is intimate and has an atmosphere all of its own. You can enjoy this with a blazing fire during the winter or sitting on the veranda and admiring the panoramic lake views or crimson sunsets during the summer. This is a special spot which has given pleasure to all who have stayed here.
In the bach there are 2 double beds and a small single bed with a separate bunk house having 2 bunks and a double bed. And its own shower and toilet. The Bunk house is more appropriate for the warmer months .
Kinloch village is serviced with a dairy / store which has a liquor licence and there is a boat sales and service centre. There are two sets of tennis courts and a 10 hole public golf course and for the purest the magnificent Jack Nicholas Links course.
The property is located in Whangamata Bay on the shores of Lake Taupo, in the picturesque village of Kinloch, 20 kms from Taupo. Nisbet Terrace is a no exit street, with limited traffic which runs along the lake front between the marina and the Whangamata stream.
Boating and swimming
An all-weather marina gives ready access to some of the most prolific fishing spots on Lake Taupo, at the same time providing for the recreational boater and water sports enthusiast. Whangamata Bay also has an excellent beachfront ideal for safe swimming, or just soaking up the summer sun. There is ready access to the beach from the bach via a walking track only 50 metres along the terrace.
Walks
There is a delightful 2½ hour walk on a bush covered track to the adjoining Kawa Kawa Bay where one can take a dip prior to climbing the steep track which rises from Kawa Kawa Bay.
Year round fishing is available on the lake and most of the larger rivers. The Whangamata stream is 5 minutes walk along the lake terrace and easy fishing at the stream mouth is there for you.
