We really enjoyed our stayed at Trout Cottage with the theme of trout fishing in the decorated interior, with some very amusing trout fisherman's thoughts and sayings. lots of helpful information on the bookshelf.

Very well-equipped kitchen. Several heating options including a wonderful woodburner with lots of wood supplied. Very quiet location. It was a real home-from-home where we felt very relaxed and comfortable. Highly recommended. Very clean.

Turangi has so much to offer the visitor. The scenery in the region is spectacular. If you are not there to ski, you are spoilt for choice with stunning walking tracks, both on the mountain and off, the Tongariro river, and of course the lake itself. The Trout Hatchery just a few km's south of Turangi is an outstanding tourist attraction, well worth a visit. The Visitors Information Centre in the main Street is full of great holiday ideas. Turangi shopping centre has some great shops. Check out Julie's for great womens clothing, the outlet shoe shop is full of bargains on quality shoes, the haberdashery on the corner is full of surprises including some excellent babywear.
